The Breadmakers

Way back in 2018, the Breadmakers played at the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine with Ed Keupper’s band the Aints. It was a great night and led Peter Oxley (from the Sunnyboys and also The Aints) to say in an interview that The Breadmakers “were fantastic. I loved them. That’s the sort of music that you should play before you die. You don’t play country music as you get older, you play 60s garage rock”
The next day, some of the Breadmakers wandered into The Bridge Hotel in desperate need of Bloody Mary’s. They ended up chatting with one of the owners who suggested they come and play there. Heads were nodded, handshakes were made, and solemn vows exchanged – and then nothing! First the Breadmakers headed off on a Spanish Tour with the Cha Cha Chas in 2019, and then there was Covid.

So now, finally years later, The Breadmakers make good on their promise and bring their rhythm and blues, garage rock show to their soon to be favourite country pub. They will have a bunch of their new(ish) LPs, recorded by Mikey Young from Eddy Current Suppression Ring, available, and they plan to make it a proper Sunday arvo Session!
