Al Carr started playing in Sydney bands in the late 90s before a move to Melbourne in 2006 led to the start of a solo career that includes his 2013 self-titled EP (with guest appearances from Davey Lane (You Am I) and Louis Macklin (Jet)), followed by the albums Gutter Truth (2017), Empty Skies (2021), and most recently, the exquisite, diverse, and poetic 2024 album The Right Dereliction, which received strong reviews from Americana UK (8/10) and Rhythms magazine.

Now Al is very pleased to announce that his fourth album will be released this November. Working with his long-time band, and reuniting in the studio with Clinton Kraus (Something For Kate, The Peep Tempel, Mike Noga), who recorded, mixed, and produced the album at Soundpark Studio in Melbourne, Carr took his new batch of songs, that once again interrogate the minutiae of real and imagined relationships and personalities, and recorded the astute and heartfelt album that is Colour to the Flame.

Al looks forward to launching the album with a special hometown show on Sunday 8th November 3pm at The Bridge.  Support from fellow local legends Jesse Lawrance and Honeytree.
