Celebrated songwriter and storyteller Darren Hanlon is making a rare trip south for just two Victorian shows this year. One of them here at the Bridge Hotel will be his first in Castlemaine since 2018.
Hanlon's music is characterized by his evocative storytelling and clever lyricism. He often draws inspiration from everyday life experiences, crafting songs that resonate with audiences on a personal level. His distinctive voice and acoustic guitar-driven sound have earned him a dedicated following both in Australia and internationally.
Over these past years Hanlon appeared in and sang the credits of the new Slim Dusty biopic 'Slim & I,' wrote songs and acted in Mick Thomas' critically acclaimed theatre show 'Vandemonian Lags,' garnered high rotation with his pandemic-themed song ‘We All Cope in Different Ways,’ and had a cameo in the hit kids TV show Bluey
Also appearing is legendary Aboriginal singer Roger Knox. Known as the "Koori King of Country," Roger is a distinguished singer and storyteller of the Gomeroi nation, and has released many albums of classic Aboriginal songs. His latest album Buluunarbi and The Old North Star, released on Hanlon's Flippin Yeah Records, is his first ever collection of original material. Many of these powerful songs reflect Roger's incredible life and experience.
