The new rock band Super American Eagle came into existence on a trip to NYC. Bob (Immigrant Union), Dave (Courtney Barnett / Ex Immigrant Union) and Brent (The Dandy Warhols / Immigrant Union) travelled from Melbourne to New York for director Dave Abts film premier of Bodega Boys. On this trip they decided to play an Immigrant Union show as a complete one off with Brent on drums, Dave on bass and Bob on guitar / vocals. This configuration was fun as so they thought "fuck it, let's have a crack writing songs in this set up". Borrowing a name suggested by Courteny Taylor-Taylor to Brent years before, Super American Eagle was born.
Super American Eagle will be supported by the always-taking-a-chance-on-living, Jazz/grunge 3 piece, Metabo. Metabo hold an exacerbating passion for simplicity and flow. Debut single “Blow” Recorded By Jake Fever Holmes (Dandy Warhol’s) is out now on Spotify. For fans of Morphine, Presidents of the United States of America & Rearview Mirror by Pearl Jam, Metabo features members of the 7ups, Flour & Ivory elephant & Merri Creek Pickers.
