With tonnes of road miles and extensive touring experience with various bands throughout North America, Europe, and Asia - Ed Fraser and Rosa Mercedes are now excited to launch their new band, KINO MOTEL, while based in Melbourne in 2021. After selling out their debut show at the Tote in January, Kino Motel then played a buzz-filled residency at the Old Bar throughout February, while also releasing their second single ‘Simple Desire’ and the live video and album ‘*Live and In-Person*’.
Recognised by Bandcamp: "Pulsing pop from Kino Motel, 'Simple Desire' marries a drifting vocal hook to a pinprick guitar line and somnolent beats.” (Bandcamp New and Notable, January 2021), as well as Triple J: “There’s an awesome sophistication and creativity to the mix and mash up of textures in this” (Steph Hughes, Triple J, February 2021), Kino Motel are now excited to tour with their full band in support of their third single ‘Fingerprints’.
OUR CARLSON is from Blackwood, Victoria. He released his debut LP "A Bit Much" in January. His charismatic DIY dance music is truly unique, combining elements of tongue-in-cheek observation, commentary on living with epilepsy, and heavily driven spoken-word beat poetry, like Cafe Del Mar meets Toecutter blasting from the back of a VL Commodore in the carpark of Highpoint Shopping Centre circa 2000. Not to be missed.
