The Sockettes create songs that reflect the intimacy of conversations between friends. Three Melbourne-based friends, Alice, Méabh, and Leah bring their different music histories together to voice a common goal of supporting women; creating a space for open reflection and encouragement.
The result is a unified sound of three-part harmonies which are supported by violin, mandolin, bass, keys, harmonica, guitar, and drums- a rotating roster which they continue to switch up, keeping it fun.
After releasing their debut Album, Wendy’s Place in 2020, the Sockettes are excited to get back into doing what they love– connecting with an audience and delivering a show that leaves them with a crowd of new friends.
They'll be joined by their friend Edward Vanzet, a singer-songwriter and recording artist currently based in Melbourne. He carries the values of the past's great songwriters, where the key focus is upon the song itself.
Using an old cassette recorder, Edward taped his most recent release 'Pocket Songs' –– a collection of original tunes inspired by the forgotten folk artists of the 60's and 70's.
