Castlemaine Album Launch of 'Naughts & Ones'

Tobias Hengeveld writes melodically vivid songs, riddled with unexpected pop-hooks. A distinctively sylvan voice, plumbing personal experiences with a wry lyrical candor.

A longtime Melbourne songwriter, his 2014 album ‘The Daylight Express’ was nominated for an Age Music Victoria Award. 

This May, Tobias releases his anticipated third solo release ‘Naughts & Ones’, a triumphant mirror-maze of snappy pop tunes set in a hinterland of darker rock ballads. With his immaculate band, Tobias delves deeper into the sounds of childhood radio hits by the likes of XTC, Splits Enz, The Stranglers, Roxy Music and The Church. Formative musical influences that moulded his signature bent for song construction.
